Communications Director Position Description

Basic responsibilities include exercising communications function for the Chapter. Within the limits of the ASID Society bylaws and policies, the Communication Director has the responsibility and authority to accomplish the duties set forth:

  • Plan and execute communications functions of the Chapter
  • Serve as a voting member of the Chapter Board of Directors
  • Support the mission, policies and programs of the Society
  • Ensure that all Chapter communications are conducted in accordance with the Society’s brand identity and standards
  • Work with the Society’s Headquarter Support Team (HST) as needed to develop communications and strategies
  • Work with committee responsible for Chapter Award and other volunteer recognition programs
  • Assist Administrator in providing chapter content for Media Company, at a minimum, as set forth:
    • Website including an active blog
    • E-news with new format
    • Social Media
  • Develop a communications plan specific to Social Media postings that include the frequency of such postings. This plan is subject to the approval of the President and President-Elect.
  • Maintain a presence on the following platforms:
    • Facebook
    • Instagram
    • Houzz
    • Linkedin
    • Pinterest
    • Twitter
  • Develop, as needed, a committee to task with providing and executing the content on these social media platforms
  • Work with the President-Elect, Membership Director and Administrator to formulate questions for Annual Chapter Membership Survey
  • Attend required Chapter Board Training and orient successor Director
  • In the absence of Administrator, assist board and President with audio/video skills
