Basic functions include assuming the responsibilities of the President in his/her absence; assisting the President in carrying out the functions of that office and performing specific duties delegated by the President; facilitating the Chapter board in understanding its role and responsibilities. This position shall be used as orientation for the future President position.
Within the limits of the bylaws and policies, the President-Elect has the responsibility and authority to accomplish the duties set forth:
- Ensure that all Chapter communications are conducted in accordance with the ASID brand identity and standards
- Assume the duties of the President in his/her absence
- Serve as a voting member of the Chapter Board of Directors
- Perform duties assigned by the President
- Assist the President in the performance of his/her duties
- Attend the Chapter’s Annual Meeting and special meetings as requested by the President
- Chair the Chapter’s Strategic Planning committee
- Participate in training necessary for orientation as the Chapter’s future President
- Appoint committees and task forces for the fiscal year of his/her presidency
- Support the mission of the Society, the policies and programs of the Society and Chapter as adopted by National and Chapter Boards of Directors
- Prepare the Chapter’s Annual Work Plan and Budget and present it to the Chapter board for review/approval
- Ensure that the Chapter has an active legislative plan, in accordance with the Chapter Strategic Plan
- Plan and execute Chapter training and transition
- Serve as a member of the Chapter’s President’s Council
- Assist in annual review of Administrator with the President’s Council
- Review and update job descriptions, bylaws and operations with President’s Council
- Work with the Membership Director, Communications Director and Administrator to formulate questions for Annual Chapter Membership Survey
- Attend required Chapter Board Training and orient successor officer
